Won't power up

Unit doesn't power up when pressing power button or by using the remote. Red IR sensor lights up and green "WOW" audio button lights up, but otherwise the unit is dead. I suspect a component on the internal power supply board went bad. What is the most common component failure on these boards? How can I check it? Are replacement boards easy to find? ...
