my laptop disconnects from the internet locally and from the internet itself how do I restore it.

I am having a lot of trouble maintaining my local and internet service it disconnects sometimes..when this happens I do not know how or what functions to press please acknowledge my concerns I am just a novice with my laptop and I need to learn how to navigate on my laptop accordingly....

Wireless

Was just wondering if this problem is common. Was just on the internet one day and all of a sudden my wireless just stopped working. It won't detect any networks....
